These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Slabstead website (the “Site”) and its matching service. By using the Site or submitting a request, you agree to these Terms.

1. What this service is

The Site is a free homeowner information and contractor-matching service. We publish educational content about residential concrete leveling and connect homeowner requests with independent, third-party contractors in the markets we serve. We are not a contractor, and we do not perform, supervise, or warrant any construction or repair work.

2. The contractors are independent

Contractors who receive requests through the Site are independent businesses, not our employees, agents, or partners. Each contractor independently determines whether to contact you and the scope, method, pricing, warranty, scheduling, and availability of any work. Any estimate, contract, or work performed is strictly between you and the contractor. Our screening (described on contractor standards) is a good-faith review, not a guarantee, an endorsement of specific work, or an assumption of responsibility for it.

3. No guarantee of service or results

Submitting a request does not guarantee that a contractor will be available, that you will receive a quote, or that any particular price, method, timeline, or result will be offered. Whether a given slab can or should be lifted, and how long any repair lasts, depends on site conditions that only an on-site inspection can assess.

4. Free for homeowners

We do not charge homeowners for requesting a match. We are compensated by contractors for connecting them with homeowner requests. This compensation does not change the price a contractor quotes you, which the contractor sets independently.

5. Educational content, not professional advice

The Site’s articles and guides are general information for homeowners. They are not engineering, structural, legal, or other professional advice, and they do not evaluate your specific property. We do not diagnose structural conditions remotely. Do not rely on Site content in place of an on-site assessment by a qualified contractor or, where structural issues are suspected, a qualified structural professional.

6. Your submissions

When you submit a request you agree to provide accurate information, confirm you own or are authorized for the property, and consent to be contacted as described in the form and our Privacy Policy. Do not submit false requests, other people’s information without authority, or automated submissions.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we are not liable for the acts, errors, omissions, work quality, or conduct of any independent contractor, or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site or the matching service. Where liability cannot be fully disclaimed, our total liability is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable United States federal law and the law of the state in which the Site operator is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you hold under the consumer-protection laws of your own state of residence. Consumer protection, contractor registration, and home-improvement requirements differ from state to state, including among the states we currently serve (Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana), and nothing here should be read as claiming those requirements are uniform.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time; the current version will always be posted here with its “last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
